Yes, you should measure from the base end which do mean flattening the curls to get to it.

yup, as in when im knitting in st stitch in the round, the end of the bag tends to roll up.. do i need to straighten out the base to measure the 17 cm before i start knitting the handles?

Hi Gillian, you are referring to the bottom of the bag? What do you mean by rolling it out? I seam the end together using the mattress stitch. Then I line the bag.

The chords is a repeated "A, D, E, A, F#m" throughout the song. Can transpose according to your own pitch! :)

Hi there, thanks for posting your questions. While reading it, I noticed an error in the flap instruction. I have since rectified the post. As for your questions:
1. Yes, pick up stitches from opposite sides for the flaps.
2. Yes, pick up stitches from the entire side.

This is a cute bag! I found it on Ravelry and plan on trying it with some sock yarn from my stash. Question: Are stitches picked up from opposite sides of the square to form the flaps? And are stitches picked up from the entire side? Thank you.

I used an old T-shirt so I guess you should choose anything that you think go with the bag.

Hi Peachy, not a stupid question at all. The reason you can't find the direction is because I didn't felt this bag. If you want to felt yours, do so before lining the bag. :)
